Previously, Laurel Island was located within the City of Charleston's “W” height district, which would allow a building built on Laurel Island as tall as 1,000 feet.

 

Laurel Island will consist of 4 height districts that minimize future buildings' visual impact with the highest building heights focused in the center of the Island. The proposed heights range from 2 story up to 12 story in the urban core of the development. Development on the island will be compatible with adjacent developed neighborhoods.
