Laurel Island will have a significant amount of public open space throughout the site.

 

A network of public parks will be integral to the overall plan. A public pedestrian and bike path will encircle the island’s edge, and other direct public accesses to the water will be provided via paths and docks.

The Laurel Island PUD states that 70 acres of open space and 39.2 acres of usable open space are expected at full development. Any reduction to these areas will require a PUD amendment. 

 

The total open space and usable open space provided is significantly more than the minimum ordinance requirements of 39.2 acres of open space and 9.8 acres of usable open space.
