PROJECT HISTORY
Morrison Drive TIF
Tax Increment Financing (TIF) is a public financing method that is used to encourage redevelopment, and offset the costs of infrastructure and other public improvement projects. The creation of TIF districts help stimulate redevelopment in areas where redevelopment that is beneficial to the public would not occur without public investment.
The Morrison Drive TIF was established in 2019 and approved by Charleston County Council, Charleston City Council, and Charleston County School District. The TIF provides the opportunity to improve public infrastructure on and off the Laurel Island site. All parcels shown have been approved by City of Charleston and Charleston County for a period of 30 years.
The ordinance establishing the Morrison Drive TIF is available for review here.
